The 5Rhythms: A Map for Moving Consciously with Life
Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms™ is a practice; a moving meditation of listening and moving our bodies in order to deepen our awareness and transform our lives. The rhythms are a powerful and deceptively simple way to transform ourselves into the fullest embodiment and manifestation of our essential selves.
At its most basic level this is a physical practice of moving through a 'Wave', in which the journey moves through five distinct rhythms.
Supported through music and facilitator guidance, the 'Wave' begins with FLOW, a gentle circular, fluid motion. With an increasingly syncopated beat we come into STACCATO which eventually gives way to a strong and rapid beat inviting in the rhythm of CHAOS. Coming out of the crest of the wave, we tap into spontaneous creativity in LYRICAL, and finally, in STILLNESS, we come home.
Each rhythm has the possibility of catalyzing specific states of being.
Being based in the infinite wisdom of our bodies, there are no steps to learn. We remember our natural rhythms through the practice of inviting movement into our physical bodies. These classes and workshops are open to anyone who desires to move and transform their lives. Absolutely no prior dance experience is necessary.
